As we come closer and closer to the day of Christmas, I want to take a moment and share this with you. In this day and age where people spend money on things that will either be regifted, sent back, or thrown in a closet to get lost forever. There are so many who truly are the forgotten ones of our time. The homeless, the rich, the poor, the humble, the proud, those who suffer from chronic health issues, there are all kinds of people who feel like they are just throw away people.
Now, lets take a moment to think about someone else who needs just a hug, or a smile or anything other than just another disillusioned Christmas. You see when we have been given the BEST gift ever. Jesus came in the form of the most vulnerable way possible. He CHOSE to become a human just like we are and He came as a baby. Not as one who would think the redeemer would come as. But how else was He going to give you and me the gift of eternal life? How could God promise that He would know everything we experience if He had not come as a baby? Think about this my friends… Jesus choose to come and bring Himself all the way into a cell that multiplied into a fetus and then into a born alive breathing human being. WOW can you imagine how that time travel must of felt like to Jesus our Immanuel?
I am soo thankful this Christmas not because of all the gifts I might get but because of the only gift that matters to me. It is the gift of life. My life was bought, my penalty was bought with the love of a Father and Son and my life today is here where God comes through and can shine. I don’t have loads of money to spend on gifts for others but I am able to give a smile, or a helping hand doing something, paying it forward in the drive through line.. Lots of ways to show Jesus and His love for me and for others.
Merry Christmas to each of you! I have included my favorite Christmas song as well as a story about the best gifts.
As the video states your talents are God’s gift to you. How you use your talents is your gift to God. Merry Christmas everyone
