Getting Rid of the Labels

Your smart”, You’re a failure”, “You’re a nice person”, “Go away you give me a headache”, “Your fat”, “Your cute”, “Your such a wuzz” “You do such a good job” And the list goes on and on and on…

Every one of us has labels placed on us.  Labels that often times will do harm if not removed right away.  Did they mean the label when it was put there?  Some I would say did.  Did our parents when they placed the labels mean them?  Did the teacher, co-worker, neighbor, brothers and sisters, pastor, doctor, friends, boy friend, girl friend, school mates, anyone else,  our selves? Pastors? God? Well it is so very hard to say if they meant them.  I grew up with lots of labels.  Some not good, some good and some well it was hard to tell.  I have come to see that the labels that only matter in this life are the labels given by God.

Today, the only label I want are the ones that my Father gives me.  Do you know that God gives us labels as well?  God is in the restoring business.  He calls us His beloved, the apple of His eye,  I am loved, an I am a daughter or son of the King.  I am a princess or prince, and a daughter or son to the King(and for the record God does not have any step children or adopted children we are His legit child).

Here is a list of how God sees you. Find out more of how He sees you by seeking Him.

1. I am the apple of His eye (De. 32.10)
2. I am God’s child (John 1:12)
3. I am God’s workmanship (some translations use God’s masterpiece) (Eph. 2:10)
4. I have been chosen and appointed by God (John 15:16)
5. I am complete (Col. 2:10)
6. I am free from condemnation (Romans 8:1-2)
7. I am a overcomer (1 John. 5:4-5)

There are many more. I challenge you to look at specific ways God shows you His labels. I am forgiven is the biggest. He knew me before I was born. He loves me. I am being sung over with a love song.

I encourage you today to drop the labels that man has given and go for the freeing labels of God.
Be encouraged to-day. Drop the chains of others and go to God for your label.

About leftnfree

I am a flawed Christian who loves Jesus more than anything. Originally from the east coast of the US (Philadelphia, Pa). Currently living in Az. I am a single female who has no children. I do have a bunch of nieces and nephews. I do love to dance, swim, sing, travel, and play. I love dogs and am allergic to cats an sulfa. I don't drink or do street drugs or abuse prescription drugs. I love the USA and am ashamed of some of the folks that are running the show in DC (both parties). Personally, I don't think that our founding fathers intended for the service of our members of congress was supposed to be a life long job. I think that they meant for it to be short term. I love all kinds of movies but classics are becoming my favorite more and more. I do not like much of what is on television today because the world of make believe "reality tv" is unreal, and the rest well I just don't like the animation programs either. I love Jesus and try to serve Him with all I am becoming more an more like Him daily. I may stumble and I may make a mistake but I can always count on the loving arms of my Jesus and my Heavenly Father to come pick me up again and help me stand. I am not afraid of trying or failing but I am afraid of bragging and doing it on my own. I try to love all people and help all people (sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't). But even in that God is my all an all. That is who I am. Nothing more and nothing less. What you see is what you get. Like I said at the beginning I am flawed. I am human, and while I am not sinless I am able to sin less and help others to learn how to sin less. God is good. I hope that you enjoy reading the things that I write.
